Beyond the Frame.

From engineering classrooms to the pageant stage, the small screen and the big one — Sharanya Shetty has built her career one character at a time.

Born in Shivamogga and raised in Bengaluru, Sharanya completed a degree in engineering while holding on to a lifelong passion for acting. She first stepped in front of the camera as a model on the pageant circuit, before television introduced her to Kannada audiences as Sahithya — a negative lead in Zee Kannada’s long-running serial Gattimela.

Her feature debut in the period suspense thriller 1980, alongside Priyanka Upendra, won her the SIIMA Award for Best Female Debut – Kannada. Since then she has moved between genres with ease: the crime thriller Huttu Habbada Shubhashayagalu, the horror of Spooky College, the romantic drama Naguvina Hoogala Mele, Golden Star Ganesh’s romantic comedy Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi and the comedy thriller Forest.

A doctor in one story, a rival in another — for Sharanya, every character is a new world to step into.
